WCPO’s Ally Kramer visited Middletown Middle School and spoke with first year teacher Miss Rachel Sutphin. Miss Sutphin joins the Middletown Middle School staff as a math teacher. Miss Sutphin is a 2019 Miami University graduate and in the span of three months, she went from being the one taught to the one doing the teaching.
She chose Middletown City School District after attending the district’s spring Urban Educator Event, an event the district hosts every year for teachers and soon-to-be teachers interested in an urban school district. Ultimately, Miss Sutphin came to Middletown Schools because “of the culture in the district and the passion of the administrators.”
