Middletown City School District announces Kryssi Delong as the new swim coach at Middletown High School. Delong is a Butler Tech Family and Consumer Sciences teacher and student organization advisor at Middletown High School.

“We are excited to add someone as passionate and dedicated as Kryssi to our coaching staff.  She has a great familiarity with our students, knowledge of the sport, and a strong desire to see the program grow and flourish. Kryssi has a student-centered mind and will thrive building positive relationships with our student-athletes, while growing their love for swimming,” said Aaron Zupka, Athletic Director at Middletown High School.

DeLong aims to grow the Middletown swim program by welcoming new swimmers to both middle school and high school teams. She aims to support students in their growth by teaching the foundational skills to new swimmers and challenging experienced swimmers to reach their next goal.

She plans to use swimming as a tool to teach strong work ethic, discipline, responsibility, and teamwork.  These skills are necessary for growth as an athlete in high school and life beyond.

“I believe in Middletown and in every student. The lessons I have learned from teaching in the classroom will support me as I start my coaching career. In my 5th year at Middletown, I look forward to serving in this new role in my Middie family.  Go Middies!” said Delong.

DeLong holds a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Her swimming experience in middle and high school had a great impact on her own personal growth and she looks forward to passing this on to the swimmers this year.
