To Middletown High School’s Graduating Seniors, Parent/Guardians:

It is time for commencement 2021! This ceremony formally marks the successful completion of twelve years of school and entrance into the adult world of college, technical training, military, or career. It is a time to celebrate a major accomplishment and rite of passage in life. So many people never get the chance of an education in the world. And, there are few things that require a twelve year commitment. We hope that everyone who has met the requirements will joyfully participate in graduation on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. at Barnitz Stadium. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m.

As our graduation is outdoors reminiscent of the spirit of founding Middletown classes, we must plan accordingly for the possibility of inclement weather. Note that our rain location/date options will be in our new Wade E. Miller Arena on Wednesday, May 20, 2021. The decision for a change in location/date will be made no later than noon on May 18, 2020 and announced by social media and on our website.

The administration of Middletown High School wishes for everyone to have a safe and memorable graduation. In keeping with the solemnity of the occasion we ask that our students observe certain rules of dress. We ask that our students wear business attire and appropriate dress shoes. If, for whatever reason, you feel that your student cannot meet these requirements, please contact the Guidance Office prior to the week of graduation.

We had excellent commencement ceremonies over the years with respectful behavior being exhibited by our students and attendees in the audience. We want to ensure that you are able to arrive at this very significant moment in your lives and enjoy it with dignity and celebration at appropriate times.

Reminder: MANDATORY Graduation practice is at 8:30 am on Monday, May 17, 2021. Graduates, please be prompt. If for some reason you have an emergency at the time of graduation practice and do not attend practice, you must provide a doctor’s note to Mrs. Cotter before 2 p.m. on May 17, 2021
