MHS Hope Squad
On September 9, join Middletown High School (MHS) and Lakota East High School Hope Squads under the Friday Night Lights at the Lakota East vs. Middletown football game.
While the schools are rivals on the field, the students are standing #United4Hope in spreading awareness for mental health. The game kicks off at 7:00 PM, but the MHS Hope Squad members will hand out mental health awareness items to people as they enter the gates at 6:30 PM. Middletown City School District will recognize both schools’ Hope Squads on the field during halftime.
Hope Night is the culmination of a weeklong awareness event (Hope Week) of all things mental health, positivity, and kindness. A Hope Squad is a school-based peer-to-peer suicide prevention program, which equips and empowers students to be the eyes and ears of a school as they watch out for youth in distress.
