Dear Middletown High School Parents/Guardians and Students:

Homecoming is a special time for our Middie family.  Students participate in activities which provide opportunities to develop social growth and maturity.   As our annual MHS Homecoming approaches, it is important to set our calendars for the events.

Homecoming Open House

  • The Homecoming Open House is Thursday, September 27 from 6:00-7:30pm.

  • Rooms will be open for students and parents to visit and to meet teachers. If you have not seen the newly renovated building, now is a great time to visit!

  • At 6:30pm we will have a brief meeting to cover our goals for the year, graduation requirements for seniors, and exciting opportunities for our students.

Homecoming Pep Rally

  • The Homecoming Pep Rally will be on Friday morning.

 Homecoming Photography and Court Presentation

  • Senior Class Photograph will be taken in the Wade E. Miller Arena at 7:30am on Friday, September 28.
  • The Court Presentation will be held at 8:00am on Friday, September 28 in the Wade E. Miller Arena.  All parents of Court Members are most welcome.

Homecoming Parade and Game

  • The Homecoming Parade will gather at the Middletown Bus Depot at 5:00 and step off at 6:00pm.  The parade will proceed down South Main Street to Barnitz Stadium for the game.

  • The Homecoming Game against Sycamore High School will begin promptly at 7:00pm.  Please purchase presale tickets from the athletic department office in the Wade E. Miller Arena.  As always, tickets will be sold at the gate.

  • Court procession will arrive at PreGame.

  • Crowning will occur during Halftime.

Homecoming Dance

  • The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 8:00-11:00pm in the MHS Walker Gym.

  • The dance is open to all students in our MHS Family.

  • If a student wishes to bring a friend that is not an MHS student, that friend must be enrolled in high school or not older than age 20 and have received prior principal approval.   Please pick up an approval form from Mrs. Cornwall in the office. These forms are due on Monday, September 24 by 2:00 pm.

  • The theme for this year is “The Roaring 20s.”

  • The colors for this year are gold and black.

  • Tickets for the dance are $10.

I wish to emphasize that we have no desire to hinder student enjoyment. We do want to have a safe, respectful, and friendly environment focused on creating a happy and fun experience for all.  In order to revisit the standards of behavior expected by our students when attending such functions, a few items need to be mentioned.

  • Please remember who you are.  You are a Middie. We treat each other with kindness and represent the Middie Family with PRIDE.

  • Spirit wear is appropriate for the athletic events. Dress for the dance remains in our dress code.  Most students choose semi-formal attire.

  • Please arrange prompt rides for the evening events in advance.  We expect to clear all events in a timely manner as a matter of safety for all our students and staff.

The opening of 2018-19 has been the best opening ever!  Keep the great Middie Spirit Going!

Have a magical, memorable, Middie time!

Sincerely,

Carmela Cotter
