Announcements for February 11

Posted on: February 11, 2019

Middletown High School's Annual Career & College Expo is Friday, February 15th from 8:55-10:25 AM on the Wade E. Miller Arena track. All juniors will be called to attend for thirty minutes in one of three groups, organized by last name. Any senior who still does not have a post-graduation plan may attend during their appropriate group, as there will be some schools with open admission, as well as military options. The Career & College Readiness department hopes to see you there!

Middie PopSockets are coming!  Pre-order yours to make sure you get the color you want.  They are $10 and available in black OR white, with a purple "old school" Middie M.  See any orchestra or show choir student, Mrs. Minge, or Mrs. Hall to preorder yours by Friday, February 15th.

Auditions for the MHS show choir will begin today and tomorrow.  You must attend both days. Sign-ups are on the choir room door, room 112.  Today is singing day.  Choose a time after school that works best for you and come prepared to sing a song of your choice.  Tomorrow is dance day.  Report at 2:30 to the choir room and you will be taught a series of dance steps by the dance captain.  Questions?  See Mrs. Minge

Seniors! If you have made a commitment to the military, please drop off a letter of commitment from your recruiter to the Guidance Office. We will then be able to nominate you for a military recognition this spring. Deadline is March 6th. So do not delay

Congratulations to all of our Middie Artists who were accepted into the Tomorrow’s Artist Today exhibition! A huge shout out to the following students who received awards on Saturday for their work:

Caleb Krebs (HS) received Honorable Mention in Mixed Media for “Distant”.

Hannah Rogers (HS) received Honorable Mention in Mixed Media for “Untitled”.

Xiarymar Correa Rosario (HS) won 3rd place in Drawing for “Listen”.

Emily Baty (HS) won 3rd place in Mixed Media for “Untitled”.

On Friday and Saturday our Middie Swim Team competed at Sectionals.  A total of 38 seconds was dropped from personal best times among our 12 competitors, a remarkable number at the end of the season.  The swim team has practiced discipline and commitment this season and Coach DeLong and Coach Bogotay want all swimmers to know how proud they are to see how far we’ve come as a team this season.  Go Middie Swimmers!

All those interested in trying out for baseball please see Coach Mercer in room 257.  Tryouts are next week
