If anyone interested in trying out for the Boys Volleyball team, practices and tryouts begin Monday March 2nd in the Miller Arena.  For more information see coach Butler in room 256.

 

Our AfroLitPop Course is having a Black History Month Showcase during 8th Period tomorrow. Juniors and Seniors will be called at the beginning of 8th period for the showcase!

Teachers who have both Junior and Senior 1st periods, please check your emails to show students the video and information regarding the showcase on Friday. 

 

 

Juniors: The application deadline for the senior Career Experience internship class has been extended to THIS Friday, February 28th. If you have not turned in your application to Mrs. Lawson in room 232, you must do so by Friday February 28th at 2:15 to still be considered for the program. Do not miss out on this awesome opportunity!

International club Monday, March 2 in room 172 where we will take a look at Egypt’s food, culture, hieroglyphs and more

 

 

JUNIORS AND SENIORS:
Do you want a well paying job after high school in a hands on environment without having to learn in a classroom for 2-4 more years? You might consider an apprenticeship for your future!  Plan on attending Monday, March 16th is Butler Tech's Apprenticeship Day  This event will be at the Butler Tech Event Center at the Fairfield Township Campus from 9:45 AM - 1:30 PM. There will be representatives for the following trades : construction laborers, electricians, insulators, iron workers, sheet metal workers, painters, plumbers, and pipefitters. These are well paying, in demand jobs!

If you'd like to participate in Apprenticeship Day, please see Miss Turner in room 236 by Friday.

Born on November 3, 1882 in Washington D.C. John Baxter Taylor was the first African-American to win an Olympic Gold Medal in 1908 in London and the first to represent the United States at an international sporting competition.
