This year, we’d like to bring you into our classrooms! Once a month, we will release a Teacher Feature on one of our many talented educators. We will feature 10 teachers from our 10 buildings.
SeƱora Stephanie Cooper, Spanish teacher at Middletown High School.
Ms. Emily Donner, ELA teacher at Middletown Middle School
"We're all Middies [here], no matter who we are!"
Megan Davis, Math Teacher at Highview 6th Grade Center
To Ms. Davis, #MiddieRising means “regardless of where you come from or the choices you've made or the experiences that you’ve had, that you always have that choice to rise above it and be a better person than you were yesterday--just like this reminder that life can be really tough, but so can you.”
Brad Fletcher, P.E. Teacher at Amanda Elementary
Before warm-ups, Mr. Fletcher starts each class off with the Middletown Fight Song: "So they know when you hear the Middie Fight Song, you don't sit down you stand up and clap as loud as you can and you get going!" Mr. Fletcher is also a 2006 MHS graduate! "Once a Middie, Always a Middie" #ThisIsWe #MiddieRising
Ms. Tara McConnaughey, Teacher Leader at Creekview Elementary
To Ms. McConnaughey, the Middie Modernization Movement is being brave, trying new things, and really thinking outside the box so our kids can learn in a new way.
Ms. Faith Partlow, Mayfield Elementary
At the end of the year, Ms. Partlow wants her students to take away the positivity they have in her room and to bring it into future classrooms.
Ms. Brittany Alcorn, Miller Ridge Elementary
In this Teacher Feature video, you'll hear from Ms. Brittany Alcorn, 5th Grade teacher at Miller Ridge Elementary. While Ms. Alcorn was in college, she volunteered at Miller Ridge Elementary and fell in love with the staff, students, and #MiddieRising culture. Ms. Alcorn's teaching super power is making connections with the students! We couldn't agree more!
Courtnie Puckett, Rosa Parks Elementary
Ms. Puckett is a second generation Middie teacher! Her mother teaches at Miller Ridge Elementary and Ms. Puckett grew up helping inside her mom's classroom. A true Middie, Ms. Puckett cannot imagine teaching anywhere else!
Hillary Snively, Wildwood Elementary
Ms. Snively, a graduate of Middletown Schools, she wants outsiders to know her classroom is a safe place for children to dream big and work hard to achieve their wildest dreams. "Once a Middie, Always a Middie!"
Jennifer Jantausch, Central Academy
In her 23 years of teaching, Ms. Jantausch has spent every year with Middletown City Schools and Central Academy! The friendly environment is why she chose Middletown and why she's stayed with our district. This year, Ms. Jantausch says there is an energy flowing through our district that has not been here before and it's starting to catch in the community!
"I hope the students in my care--really any students here at our building--leave knowing that they are loved, they are valuable, they have a voice, they are capable of anything, and that they are my reason and they are my why."
